Corporate Legal Operations — Documentation

Run an in-house legal function end to end: intake and triage of legal requests, matter management (issues, tasks, risks, decisions, approvals), outside-counsel engagement and spend control, documents and knowledge, and service-level tracking — with a legal-operations dashboard over the lot.

In this section

  • 00_OVERVIEW — what the application is for, the operating chain, and the six functional areas.
  • 01_QUICK_REFERENCE — the menu map, all 19 models, the status vocabularies, and the demo data story.
  • 02_SYSTEM_DIAGRAM — an interactive entity map (hub tables, per-area tabs and a curated top-level flow).
  • 03_PHASE_2_SCOPE — the runtime engine that would make it live (SLA engine, state machines, spend controls, rules).

The application in one paragraph

A business user raises a LegalRequest (captured with IntakeQuestions), which Legal Ops triages and either declines or converts into a LegalMatter. A matter carries its stakeholders, issues, tasks, legal risks, decisions and approvals; where outside help is needed a CounselEngagement (often a panel firm) is set up and its SpendEntries are booked and controlled against a budget. MatterDocuments, Communications and reusable KnowledgeItems capture the work product, while ServiceLevels and SLAInstances track responsiveness — all under the framework's audit trail, soft-delete and privilege controls.
